Russian River Ramparts is an independent study program that is a part of El Molino High School.  It is located in the Veteran’s Building in Guerneville, California.  Russian River Ramparts is an alternative educational option that has been in existence for almost 30 years. The courses are aligned with the courses taught at El Molino High School. Russian River Ramparts students take the California High School Exit Exam and California Standards Tests. Enrollment is open to students from all Sonoma County school districts as well as adjacent county districts.

Students at Russian River Ramparts are scheduled to come to the classroom one day a week for up to two hours. During the classroom time, students review their assignments with an experienced, credentialed teacher to clarify understanding, take tests, and receive the next week's assignments. Subjects are assigned in focused four to eight week sessions.

As an alternative educational setting, Russian River Ramparts meets many individual student needs: credit makeup, the need for flexible school time for employment purposes, interpersonal relationships, personal needs, parenting needs, and the need to adjust to a life change.  Russian River Ramparts students are eligible to participate on
El Molino High School’s interscholastic athletic teams. Courses of study are designed to meet the individual needs of each student.
