Fractal Project
- Write a report on fractals. Be sure to include:
- The history of Fractals:
- What are they? (25 points)
- When were they discovered? (5 points)
- Who discovered them? (5 points)
- Information about one specific type of Fractal (the Mandelbrot
Set or the Koch Snowflake are two examples):
- Select a fractal your group wants to research
- Describe how your fractal is created and any other interesting
facts about it. (25 points)
- Each person in your group must have a “job” and there must be a
portion of your report that describes the responsibilities of each person.
Everyone in the group will get the same grade, unless the work was not divided
fairly. If you do the report on your own, you need not do anything for
this portion of the report, and you will receive 10 free points. (10 points)
- Include a bibliography. (5 points)
- Generate the fractal your group chose to research (make it pretty-
you are decorating the classroom!). (25 points)
- On the computer AND/OR
- By hand
- Consider also enlarging a photocopy of your fractal that you found
in your research
- Put your report and picture of your Fractal on a poster board and
have fun making a project that will help decorate our classroom.
